Slavisa Jokanovic signs for an England bench

Editorial Deporpress | End the rumours. Slavisa Jokanovic returns to England. The former CD Tenerife soccer player returns to the Old Continent after passing through the Qatar League, where he took charge of Al Gharafa, but whose contract ended this June. One of the recently relegated from the Premier League to the Champions League, Sheffield United - dropped as bottom, with 23 points -, takes over the services of the Serbian coach.

Jokanovic has become quite a merit expert in England. With Watford and Fulham he achieved promotion to the elite: the Premier League. A long career where he has also managed Levski Sofia (Bulgaria), Muangthong United (Thailand), Partizán Belgrade (Serbia), Maccabi Tel Aviv (Israel) and his only adventure in Spain: Hercules.

“I am honored to become the manager of this historic football club and I am grateful to Prince Abdullah bin Mosa'ad bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Yusuf Giansiracusa and Stephen Bettis for trusting me to start this new chapter for the Blades. We all share the same vision, passion and long-term ambition for Sheffield United. I am excited to return to work in English football and am looking forward to getting started with the players and staff, as well as meeting our passionate and loyal fans as we prepare for the challenge of the Championship. I want to assure our amazing fans that we are fully committed to helping the team achieve their goals and making them proud. With your support we can make Bramall Lane a stronghold and I have no doubt your voice will make a huge difference to the team after so long without you last season. Let's work together to make Sheffield United the place the club belongs again."
