Queen Letizia appears with a 'piercing' and makes King Felipe VI crouch at her feet

King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia presided over the Military Easter parade that was held on Three Kings Day, Thursday, January 6. This is the first act of the Kings of Spain of this new year 2022.

The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez; the Defense Minister, Margarita Robles; and the Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande-Marlaska, among other authorities, were in charge of receiving them upon their arrival at the Royal Palace of Madrid, in the Patio de la Armería.

This event marks the start of the military year and is also known as the New Year's Military Parade. It is a tradition that has been celebrated every year on Three Kings Day since 1782. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, this is the second year that it has had a smaller capacity than usual.

As usual, Queen Letizia once again stole the attention in the Military Easter parade. The 'look' that she wore with which she was spectacular and surprised everyone with a new detail that gives her a more modern and youthful image.

The 'look' of Military Easter

Queen Letizia debuted an elegant midnight blue cut dress, with a flared skirt with a detail of a belt with pleats and a bow that is fitted at the waist and buttons covered with the same fabric as the dress. It is a flattering and solemn design.

As accessories, she wore peeptoes-style pumps with stiletto heels (a bit coarse) in the same tone as the dress and a black fur jacket by Felipe Varela.

The wife of King Felipe completed the outfit with several jewels. She wore Bulgari earrings -white gold hoops with diamonds and aquamarines- and a pearl and diamond brooch, the Peregrina II pearl, which is a jewel belonging to the Pasar lot.

She also wore her Karen Hallam ring, which she has not parted with for a long time, and which, according to what was said a long time ago, could have been a gift from her daughters Leonor and Sofía. The piece is made of gold-plated silver and the oval silhouette that it has stylizes the fingers.

Queen Letizia's 'piercing'

In addition to the outfit itself, another detail caught the eye, the 'piercing' of her left ear. Queen Letizia seems to have pierced this part of her body to make a second hole (although there are also removable earrings, which do not require any hole). A detail that has not gone unnoticed despite the fact that she chose to wear a very discreet little ball.

This new earring in the lobe gives a fresher and more youthful touch to your image, breaking the traditional and classic schemes a bit.

The King's wife could have taken the opportunity to make this hole during these Christmas holidays, in which she has remained away from public life, taking advantage of the days with her family and daughters, especially with Princess Leonor who was in Spain about 19 days. The heir to the throne finished her classes at the UWC Atlantic College in Wales on December 10 and resumed them this Wednesday, January 5. However, it has not been seen in all these days.

More 'royals' and celebrities wear extra earrings

Letizia Ortiz has succumbed to one of the fashions that appeared years ago and that reemerged with force in 2020. Many national and international celebrities have signed up to this trend wearing extra holes in their ears like Paula Echevarría, Blanca Suárez, Cristina Pedroche, Cara Delevingne, Miley Cyrus or Gigi Hadid, among other 'celebrities'.

Within royalty, there have also been other women who have also chosen to pierce their ears, such as Rania from Jordan, Mette Marit, Charlène from Monaco or Sofía from Sweden, who have also appeared with 'piercing'. The niece of the kings Felipe and Letizia, Victoria Federica de Marichalar, has also pierced them.

King Felipe crouches at Letizia's feet: his most chivalrous gesture

In addition to the new 'piercing' in his ear, Queen Letizia and King Felipe ended up starring in one of the anecdotes of the Military Paschal of 2022.

At the moment they were standing on the wooden platform in the Plaza de la Armería of the Royal Palace, the Queen's dress dropped the Pilgrim II pearl brooch, from the jeweler El Pasar, as she was about to put on the black fur jacket he wore to protect himself from the cold.

This jewel is a gray pearl surrounded by diamonds from which Letizia has hung La Peregrina, considered one of the most valuable pearls of the Royal Household. Regarding this piece there are some doubts and mysteries since there are those who assure that it is not the original.

The pin that held the brooch to her dress came off and that's when the King showed his most chivalrous side. After realizing what had happened, he did not hesitate to crouch at Letizia's feet, which was where the brooch that his wife had lost was located.
