The beauty of aquamarine

Today I am going to talk to you about one of the most beautiful, elegant and often undervalued gemstones: aquamarine.

Aquamarine is the “sister” of the emerald, which we do not hesitate to appreciate! Both are beryls with the same hardness, seven and a half on the Mohs scale.

Like seawater, aquamarine is blue and blue-green in color. In the 19th century, its greenish blue color was the most appreciated, but currently the intense sky blue is the most valued and expensive! The better its color, its cleanness of tone and transparency, the higher its value.

When you hold a beautiful aquamarine in your hands, it seems that the beauty of the sea was trapped inside... It has a fascinating strength and shine!! For this reason, the great master jewelers have always sought that special aquamarine to which they can extol.

This stone complements any skin and eye color and also, as there is a range of colors from greenish blue to milky aquamarine, it allows you to find different prices, from the highest to the most moderate.

It is also very flattering for both blondes and brunettes, which makes it the choice for women around the world. Its color and brightness are reminiscent of sea water! Who wouldn't want him around?

Legend has it that it originated in the treasure chest of the fabulous mermaids and since ancient times it has been considered the lucky stone for sailors who carried it as a talisman against seasickness and storms.

In ancient times, as well as in the Middle Ages, people believed that the cosmos is reflected in precious stones. Aquamarines have been mentioned for centuries by healers, shamans, and medicine men.

The ancient druids used it to tell the future, in Scotland they called it a “stone of power”!

During the Middle Ages, alchemists believed that aquamarine acted as an antidote to any poison.
