COPE Roberto Verino, in COPE Cool: "Pieces that do not go out of style clothe the soul for generations"

These days we are experiencing different important moments for fashion. The celebration of a new edition of the MBFWM, with proposals from established designers, the Ego Catwalk for emerging values and Madrid es Moda, dedicated to author fashion.

Events that require a great effort and that are a sign that fashion continues, seeks new paths, reinvents itself and is based on the values that really matter, raising awareness and raising awareness among consumers. In this context, the double participation, in MBFWM and in Madrid es Moda, of a veteran, with a career as brilliant as it is exemplary, Roberto Verino, who was precisely the one who opened Fashion Week with a very special presentation, is inscribed. "A virtual and interactive catwalk, so that everyone can enjoy it, not only for clients or specialists," explains the designer to COPE Cool.

LISTEN HERE THE COMPLETE INTERVIEW

A collaboration with the Madrid Capital de Moda project of the Madrid City Council that has a lot to do with respecting the security measures imposed by the pandemic. "In Serrano, one of the busiest streets in Madrid, between Ortega y Gasset and Hermosilla, through 15 looks photographed in black and white, located on billboards that are animated digitally and in color by approaching any mobile device."

In addition to this innovative experience, Verino also participated in the MBFWM, with the streaming broadcast of a making of video of its Spring Summer 2021 Collection based on Essentialism and the concept of Emotional Wardrobes "those garments that are part of our lives, that we value for their memories, which we treasure for their emotional content and that they are small amulets that clothe our soul". A concept that links to the trend of wardrobes with fewer pieces, but of higher quality.

Essentialism -he tells us- "is understanding that fashion is not something to be used and thrown away. That the pieces have to be able to fulfill functions and fulfill missions and, above all, last over time. There the concept of the essential as a value, the pieces that do not go out of style and that even transcend generations and end up not only allowing the emotion of those who enjoy them, but also those who inherit them".

"We have many examples of young girls who inherit from their mothers or even their grandmothers and that allows them to have a double enjoyment: knowing that they have been part of the lives of their loved ones and will continue to be part of theirs. A motivation more so for those of us who work in this complicated and at the same time so creative world, to be able to enjoy how happy we make so many people", adds the designer.

Fashion is conceptual, but with an important visual component and in this context Roberto Verino told COPE Cool about his Spring/Summer proposals. "I am a person who always tries to look for simplicity, colors capable of working in different seasons and years, that's why mine are very neutral at the beginning of the season. Color will come later. When we are already in summer, color will wrap us up and It will help us understand that, in the end, we have to be excited and see that in life, we have to take advantage of the day to day and be happy with the little things", he concluded.
