The queen recovers her most mysterious' tweed dress and transforms it with a layer

Yesterday and after a weekend in which they went to the opera, the Kings participated in the opening ceremony of the commemoration of the 75th anniversary of EMT Madrid. An occasion in which the Queen took the opportunity to recover a magical Massimo Dutti dress along with his most seductive boots. Today, the commitments of Don Felipe VI and Doña Letizia are due to the state visit of the President of the Italian Republic, Sergio Mattarella (who attended with his daughter Laura). First, there has been a reception and military honors in the Patio de la Armería of the Royal Palace, after which a lunch will be held at the Palacio de La Zarzuela. In the evening, everyone will return to the Royal Palace to enjoy a dinner in honor of the Italian politician.

The dress I've worn twice in less than a month

For the reception and military honors ceremony in the Patio de la Armería of the Royal Palace, Doña Letizia has opted for a tweed dress, in midi length, three-quarter length sleeves, a square neckline and a mix of colours, among which we see details in green and pink. It is a creation that is accompanied by mystery, since its origin is unknown (despite the fact that due to its aesthetics it was debated in its day whether or not it belonged to Felipe Varela). In addition, it is a design that fascinated the Queen in 2017, as she wore it twice in less than a month.

The first time that Doña Letizia wore this multicolored tweed dress was during the delivery of the 2015 National Sports Awards, an event that was held at the El Pardo Palace on January 23, 2017 and in which she wore pumps with crossed straps on the instep (the detail with which Diana of Wales achieved 'infinite legs'). Later, she would recover it 25 days later, specifically, on February 17 to attend the opening of the Masterpieces of Budapest exhibition. From the Renaissance to the avant-garde at the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum. A commitment that was especially relevant, since it coincided on the date with the resolution of the sentence for the Nóos case in which the acquittal of the Infanta Cristina was determined and the sentence to six years and three months in prison for her husband, Iñaki Urdangarin.

In this second opportunity that she gave to her mysterious tweed dress, the Queen looked for a trick to further stylize her figure with it. To do this, she opted to incorporate a thin belt that would mark her silhouette better than herself. A gesture that he has also reiterated in this 2021 during the reception to the president of Italy. However, this time, he opts for a light gray model instead of pink.

Launches the predestined bag for her

Matching her fine belt, Doña Letizia has premiered a new bag at the Royal Palace in Madrid. Curiously, she has purchased the light gray version of the Furla Metropolitan model (155 euros), which she already has in white and has worn several times. Continuing with the chromatic coordination, it recovers its leather pumps in the tone of Magrit. To create a slight contrast, she opted for an outerwear item in a bright stone colour, specifically a Hugo Boss design that she also has in black and that we hadn't seen since its premiere in Paris in the fall of 2016. Like jewels, the Queen recovers her feather-shaped earrings, pieces from Chanel's Plume collection (6,800 euros); and she doesn't part with her Karen Hallam ring.

Laura Mattarella is also committed to tweed

Upon her arrival at the Palacio de La Zarzuela to participate in lunch with the President of Italy, the Queen took off her cape and allowed us to see with all detail her mysterious dress. Similarly, the daughter of the Italian president, Laura Mattarella, has also taken off her coat, so we have been able to better demonstrate her wink in the style of Doña Letizia. And it is that she also opted for tweed, specifically, when choosing a jacket in this fabric.
